Options for an AME?

    Options for an AME?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but, here goes.

Hi all! I'm a student in Sri Lanka currently following a L.W.T.R. course for an AME. I have somewhere around 2 to 3 months till the end of the course and I'm still confused as to what my options are as an AME.
Initially, the course only included piston engines and un-pressurized hulls. But, after some nagging on our end, we got the management to include gas turbine engines and  pressurized hulls. So far, I've worked on a Cessna 150 and a 152 for and an Antonov AN-24 for gas turbine experience. I know it doesnt sound much but, thats the sort of training that we get in our country unless of course if we join the air force.
    So my problems are,
1.) Could I get an apprenticeship on an airline with that kind of training?

2.) Is it possible for an AME to work on large aircrafts? (Gas turbine engines and pressurized hulls)

3.)I know that I have to complete 3 or 4 years of OJTs to sit for the L.W.T.R. but, once I do get it, could I start on my type ratings straight away? You know, move on to bigger and better things... :)

Some genuine answers would be much appreciated, opinions too. Thanks.
